Monica Bradburn is a 2018 graduate from Central Michigan University. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Photojournalism and received scholastic honors, Cum Laude. 

 

From 2014-2016 she worked at the newspaper, Central Michigan Life, holding positions as a staff photographer, assistant photo editor and photo editor. Over the summer of 2016, Bradburn was employed as a photo intern for University Communications at CMU. In spring 2017 and until graduation she was employed as a sports photographer for CMU Athletic Communications.

 

In the summer of 2017, Monica stepped out of her comfort zone and was employed as a media intern for the Ocean Alaska Science and Learning Center at Kenai Fjords National Park in Seward, Alaska. Monica worked in both Kenai Fjords and Katmai National Parks documenting scientists, wildlife and landscapes through photography and video. Her main assignment was finishing up documentation of the Changing Tides project through videos and photos, which included the collaring of brown bears and scientific observations in Katmai National Park. She also worked on completing a video focusing on the Coho Salmon in the Resurrection River.

 

In 2019, Monica lived in Tempe, Arizona where she was employed by the Arizona Diamondbacks as a photography intern. During the season, she photographed corporate signage around the ballpark, off-site community events, pre-game activities and game action for the D-backs organization. When the team was on the road, she spent her days in the office working on the back-end server key-wording and archiving previous years photos. Bradburn was thankful for the opportunity to have worked in the exhilarating D-backs environment.

 

Currently, Monica is employed by MLB, as a Live Content Creator for the Detroit Tigers & NHL, as a Live Social Contributor for the Detroit Red Wings.

 

Bradburn tries to adventure and hike as much as she can on her off days. She also enjoys working out at the gym to maintain a healthy lifestyle. One of her favorite hobbies is writing letters. She believes letter writing is a lost art and hopes people continue to send letters despite this age of cell phones and computers.
